The asymmetri c unit of the title compou nd, (C 13 H 11N 2)-[Fe(C 7 H3 NO 4) 2 ] 4H 2O, conta ins a 9-ami noacridi nium cation, one anion ic comp lex and four uncoord inated wate r molecules. In the anionic comple x, the Fe III ion i s si x-coordi nated by two almost perpend icular [dih edral angle = 88.78 (7) ] pyridin e-2,6-dica rboxylat e lig ands in a distorted octahedra l geometry. In the crystal , an i ons are conn ected into chai ns along [10 1] by weak C—H O i nte ractions, whic h creat e ten- membered hydroge n-bonde d R2(10) rings. These chai ns are linke d by three-m embered water cl usters. The final three-d imensional network is constru cted by nume rous intermo lecular O— H O and N—H O i nteracti ons
