Abstract
In this project, CaF2 Nanoparticles (NPs) Synthesized with co-precipitation method. The synthesized NPs were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and photoluminescence (PL) techniques. A series polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) /CaF2 nanocomposite films with different amount (1%, 2% and 4% wt) of CaF2 NPs have been synthesized and the films were characterized by UV-Vis spectrums. The optical absorption edge of the nanocomposite films are shifted towards the shorter wavelength region with decreases CaF2 NPs. The XRD results indicated the formation of CaF2 NPs with Cubic phase and the crystallite size is estimated using Scherrer equation to be in the range 20–27 nm. The PL spectrum shows a series of emission peaks at ~ 394 and 790 nm.
