Abstract
This workpresentstheapplicationofmeshlesslocal Petrov–Galerkin (MLPG) methodtotwo dimensionalcouplednon-Fick diffusion–elasticity analysis.Aunitstepfunctionisusedasthetest functionsinthelocalweak-form.Itleadstolocalintegralequations(LIEs).Theanalyzeddomainis divided intosmallsubdomainswithacircularshape.Theradialbasisfunctionsareusedfor approximationofthespatialvariationoffieldvariables.Fortreatmentoftimevariations,the Laplace-transformtechniqueisutilized.Severalnumericalexamplesaregiventoverifytheaccuracy and theefficiencyoftheproposedmethod.Themolarconcentrationdiffusesthrough2Ddomainwitha finite speedsimilartoelasticwave.Thepropagationofmassdiffusionandelasticwavesareobtained and discussedatvarioustimeinstants.TheMLPGmethodhasahighcapabilitytotrackthediffusion and elasticwavefrontsatarbitrarytimeinstantsin2Ddomain.Theprofilesofmolarconcentrationand displacementsintwoorthogonaldirectionsareillustratedatvarioustimeinstants.
