Abstract
The effect of nanoparticle size on the kinetics of Fischer- Tropsch synthesis (FTS) for iron catalyst is studied. Size-dependent model for FTS rates is developed using the thermodynamic analysis method and model parameters evaluated using experimental results. Calculated size-dependent model parameters change with temperatures and used for evaluation of surface surface tension energy (σ) for iron catalyst and size-independent activation energy for FTS reaction. Comparison with experimental data for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis by unsupported iron catalyst illustrates applicability of the thermodynamic analysis for the explanation of nanoparticle size effect on kinetics parameters.
