The pyrimidine ring system undoubtedly belongs to the most important heterocycles in nature, as it represent the main structure of many biologically active compounds, including nucleosides and nucleotides.[1-3] This work deals with synthesis and study of a novel system of heterocyclic compounds with highly fluorescent properties. The reaction starts by the synthesis of 6-amino 5-cyano 2-thiomethyl pyrimidine (1) as precursor. Dimorth rearangement on Compound (1) obtainded Compound (2) which was treated with hydrazine hydrate in ethanol and orthoesters in acetic acid, respectively, gave quantitatively the desired triazolo pyrimido pyrimidine (3). These novel synthesized heterocyclic system derivatives are highly fluorescent and can be used as marker in proteins.
