Tetrazoles are a class of heterocycles that have received attention due to their wide range of applications. In general, this nitrogen-rich ring system is used in propellants, explosives, pharmaceuticals 2 as antiallergic, antipemilic, and as stimulants or sedatives on the centeral nervous systems, biomedical applications, membranes, andantifoggants in photographic, In addition, tetrazoles are important synthons in synthetic organic chemistry 3 , and also used as precursors of carbenes in flash vacuum pyrolysis. In continuation of our interest in the application of tetrazoles, we report here a facile and improved protocol for preparation of pyrimidotetrazolotriazine (3) from 5hydrazinyl-1H-tetrazole (1) and 5-boromo-2,4-dicholoro-6-methyl-pyrimidine (2) in the presence of CHCl 3 at ambient conditions. Eventually, the substitution of secondary amines with chlorine atom obtained the corresponding new derivatives of products 4(a-e) as depicted in Scheme (1).
