Pyrimidine derivatives and heterocyclic annulated pyrimidines continue to attract great interest because of their wide variety biological activities, such as anticancer, antiviral, antitumor, and anti-inflammatory activities1,2.Moreover, triazines and especially fused triazines are also an important class of heterocyclic compounds with antifungal and antibacterial activities3,4. In continuation of our interests in the application of pyrimidine moiety in the synthesis of new heterocyclic compounds, compound (1) was prepared and reacted with CS 2 in DMF, methyliodide and hydrazine hydrate, respectively to give the desired compound (2). The subsequent treatment of compound (2) with hydrazine hydrate and then with triethylorthoesters gave quantitatively the corresponding pyrimido[4,5e][1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-b][1,2,4]triazine3(a-c) in good yields.The structure of all the new synthesized compounds were confirmed by their spectral and microanalytical data.
