Abstract
Thiosemicarbazon derivations and their complexes have been attracting attention of the researchers, not only because of their interesting coordination chemistry, but also because of the biological properties [1-3]. New iron(III) and copper(II) complexes of tetradentate N2O2 isothiosemicarbazone ligand have been synthesized and characterized by prevalent spectral methods. The ligand is bonded to the central metal as a binegatively agent. In Fe(III) complex, the metal is situated in a distorted square pyramid environment formed by N2O2 atoms of the ligand in the meridional positions and a chloride ligand in the apical. The Cu(II) atom in complex adopt distorted square planar geometry with this tetradetate ligand. In Fe(III) complex, the metal is situated in a distorted square pyramid environment formed by N2O2 atoms of the ligand in the meridional positions and a chloride atom in the apical position.
