Abstract

‎In this paper‎, ‎we generalize the alpha skew normal distribution‎, ‎introduced by Elal-Olivero (2010)‎, ‎and obtain‎ ‎a new generalization called the alpha-beta skew Kotz type distribution‎. ‎Mathematical properties of this new distribution are provided‎. ‎In particular‎, ‎we derive explicit formulas for the moments‎, ‎the characteristic function and the R\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'{e}nyi‎ ‎entropy‎. ‎Two real data are illustrate to show the performance of the proposed model‎.
