Abstract

The organ doses from administration of Iodine-131, Iodine-123 sodium Iodide was calculated for the reference voxel phantoms by using the Monte Carlo transport method. Besides, the dose distribution in the body was obtained in 3D contour plots. The dose distribution map shows that thyroid adjacent organs receive greater absorbed dose than the others while Bladder wall and its neighboring organs absorb greater dose if blocking agent was given to the patient. In addition, the contributions of photons and electrons to organ doses were calculated. Furthermore, organ doses were estimated due to all source regions. The results showed that target organs in the female phantom generally receive greater absorbed dose than those in the male phantom.
