Economic sanctions are a tool to achieve political goals. Since the Islamic Revolution in Iran in 1979, America has repeatedly used this tool against Iran and Between 1979 and 2008, to adopt a policy of hostility towards Iran is trying to undermine our economy. This paper examines the impact of economic sanctions on the three sectors of energy, trade and banking system in Iran. After the sanctions in these sectors, the following effects have been shown: 1. Despite economic sanctions against Iran, energy sector is not much affected from them and still continues to grow and develop. 2. From 2007 onwards and with the intensification of sanctions, the price of capital goods (Machinery and equipment) increased between 7 to 10 percent by European suppliers. 3. Although successive and in short intervals sanctions has caused the banking system take effect from these financial sanctions, but over time, Iranian banks have overcome these sanctions with planning and optimal management and have fulfilled its obligations and have not allowed to damaged their international reputation. In the end, some policy recommendations are proposed to deal with the impact of possible sanctions.
