Title : ( Seismic dissipation in deep seismic zones from spectral ratio of sP/P )

Observed variation of amplitude ratios of sP and P phases with frequency is used for a study of inelastic properties of upper mantle in the region of deep focus earthquakes. Results are compared with those derived from similar study made for spectral ratio of pP/P, previously. Quantitative comparison of the two sets of data gives preference to nearly equal imaginary components of bulk and rigidity moduli, in this region of upper mantle.
