Abstract
In this letter, a 2-Element antenna array constructed by using a perturbed SIW Cavity backed slot antenna in Ku band is presented. By employing perturbation technique, creating a corner cut in SIW square cavity, the resonant frequency of two degenerated modes are split, and in consequence antenna impedance bandwidth is improved. Compared with the results of that of a single element antenna, it is shown that antenna gain is enhanced from 6.6 dB to 9.2 dB. The proposed antenna array still maintains advantages of a single antenna element such as low profile, low cost and easy integration with planar structures.
