In order to investigate nutrient resource and plant density on some agronomic characteristics of Carum carvi L., an experiment was conducted as split plot based on complete randomized block design with 3 replications at Agricultural Research Station, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran, during 2013. Treatments were vermicompost (5 ton per hectare), manure (30 ton per hectare), nitroxin biological fertilizer (5 kg per hectare), chemical fertilizer (100 kg per hectare of urea and triple super phosphate) and control (Without the use of fertilizers) in main plots and three plant densities (20, 40 and 60 plants per m2) in sub plots. The results indicated that the kind of fertilizer and plant density affected studied charachteristices. Applying chemical and organic fertilizers increased seed yield, bilogical yield, umples per plants, the number of seeds per plant and plant height, whereas 1000 seed weight and harvest index didn’t affect. The highest and the lowest biological and seed yields were observed in vermicompost treatment and control, respectively. Also, with increasing plant density, total studied characteristics increased significantly. The highest and the lowest agronomic characteristic were obtained in 60 and 20 plants per m2, respectively.
