Abstract
New faunistic records of some Metoecus Dejean, 1834 species from the Palaearctic Region are presented:M. satanas Schilder, 1924 is recorded from Yunnan province (China) for the first time; M. morawitzi (Semenov,1891) is recorded from Iran for the first time along with the first reliable records from Afghanistan; the first reliable records of M. paradoxus (Linnaeus, 1760) are given from Sardinia (Italy) and Turkey. An unidentified specimen of Metoecus is reported from Sichuan province (China). Characters distinguishing M. morawitzi from M. paradoxus are briefly discussed.
