چکیده

The tomato leaf miner is one of the most important pests of Solanaceae plants. Currently, leaf miner controus mainly based on the use of insecticides; therefore, it is necessary to look for alternative methods to use in managementof this pest. It was addressed to compare the efficacy of these species at three different soil textures (loamy sand, sandy loam and cocopeat), three ranges of temperature (19, 25 and 31 oq and three different exposure time (65, 240 and 480 min). Results showed that H. bacteriophora with LC50 1.01 IJs/cm2 was more effective compared toS. carpocapsae with LC50 2.03 IJs/cm2• The last in star larva was moresusceptible compared to other of stages.Both nematode species had low influence on pupal stage and moderate virulence against adult stage. The emergence of Us from last instar larvae demonstrated the reproduction of H. bacteriophora within last instar larvae. Both nematode species induced the highest mortality rate in the loamy sand (88.97 %) compared to sandy loam (green house) (16.88 %). The maximum mortalities of 95.6 % and 90.65 % for H. bacteriophora and S. carpocapsae were observed at 31 ± I"C. At 25 ± l "C, the mortality rate was obtained 96 % and 89.28 % for H. bacteriophora and S. carpocapsae, respectively.Exposure of the last instar larvae for eight hours was sufficient to induce an infection level about 7 1.40 % on the larvae, whereas 50.37 % of the larvae were infected after an hour of exposure. The observation of infected larvae confirmed that EPNs are able to find and kill larvae within the galleries. The effectiveness of EPNs under 31 ± l "C and 65 min, confirmed that the utility of both species as biocontrol agents for management of this pest. Although must to determine optimal temperature and survival rate for pathogenicity of this biocontrol agent in greenhouse conditions.
