Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of religious coping strategies on inter-personal and intra-personal skills in women. This study is carried out in the form of a quasi-experimental research. The statistical population is comprised of 70 mothers whose children were studying at the Elementary School of District 5 of Mashhad (educational year 2012-2013). The participants were selected via convenience sampling. The two-part Bar-On Emotional Quotient Inventory (EQI) was administered among and completed by the participants. Then, 30 respondents who had the lowest score were identified and randomly divided into two groups. Ten sessions of religious coping strategies were held for the experimental group. Then, a post-test was given. Analysis of covariance was used to analyze the test data. According to the results, training religious coping strategies can be effective in improving interpersonal and intra-personal skills (p ≤ 0.01). Therefore, this training is recommended for emotional education.
