In a 15 month old Holstein heifer in a dairy cattle farm in Mashhad , an ovoid big mass weighing 2.5 kg and a diameter of about 20 cm was observed near the left udder. Its consistency and colour were firm and black respectively. According to the the owner views, its growth was very slow. In palpation, the mass was painless. After aspiration of the mass and ensure the absence of abscess, the cow was sedated with 2%xylazine hydrochloride (0.05 mg/kg, IV) and restrained in dorsal recumbency. Then, infiltrative subcutaneous anaesthesia of the lateral portion of the mass was achieved by administering 10 mL 2% lidocaine. The mass was excised totally. It was under the skin and had partly extended to the mammary tissue. During sample prepration for histopathology lab, it was found that the cross section of the mass is black. A piece of the mass was placed in formalin and sent to the lab.
