Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to give a new and shorter proof of the Hegarty’s result on the absolute center and autocommutator subgroup of a group and to improve the bound attained by Hegarty for autocommutator subgroup. Furthermore, we prove an analogous statement for p- groups.
