Abstract
Background: One of the issues is the need for research examining the psychological characteristics of drug addicts. One of the groups addicted are alcoholism. Rumination focus as a repeater opinion that drug addicts to sign them. One component that rumination is associated with mental health. Public health is the most common include depression, anxiety, social problems and physical problems. Studies showed that rumination is associated with anxiety and depression. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between rumination and anxiety, depression, health problems and social problems. Methods: The research method is descriptive - correlation. The population of individuals who were alcohol users in prison and had a sample size of 45 patients, of which 40 were selected to be worked. Tools rumination questionnaire and the General Health Questionnaire GHQ is a valid and reliable research tool. Results: Descriptive Index, indicating a mild degree of physical disorders, anxiety, depression and social problem. The results showed a correlation between rumination and anxiety problems and depression, there is a positive and significant relationship (significance level: 0.01), and between rumination and total score of mental health, there is a positive and significant relationship (significance level: 0.01). Conclusion: According to the findings, between anxiety disorders and depression and rumination that occurs in thinking there is a significant correlation and consonant are with research Bagherinejad et al (2010). It should be noted that one of the factors affecting repeated rumination and reflection for people addicted to alcohol can cause symptoms such as depression and anxiety can be combined with. It is based on research done in this field, co morbidity with anxiety disorders, substance abuse and depression has been most cooperative.
