Abstract
In this paper two new Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) H-plane horn antenna structures with enhanced directivity is proposed. In order to suppress parasitic radiation and to reduce conductor loss, the new structures are fed by a coaxial probe. The proposed antennas are numerically investigated using High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) software. Radiation properties of the proposed SIW horn antennas including reflection coefficient, radiation patterns and directivity of the antennas are reported. Results illustrate that proposed structures provide directivity of 8.12 dB and 9.28 dB, which are 1.22 dB and 2.38 dB more than the directivity of conventional H-plane SIW horn antenna.
