Abstract
In this paper a broadband and high gain with low side lobe level (SLL) H-plane horn antenna implemented by substrate integrated waveguide technique is proposed. Using three parts of rectangular waveguide with different heights, impedance matching between dielectric material of the waveguide and air in gradulally obtained, which lead to obtain a very wideband operation. The introduced antenna is numerically investigated by a software package and its radiation performance is reported and compared with those of a conventional horn. The results show that 10% fraction bandwidth is obtained, while antenna gain and SLL are 8.2 dB and 28 dB respectively.
