Abstract
Triazole pesticides such as hexaconazole, penconazole, diniconazole, etc are one of the most important families of fungicides . They are applied globally to control a wide range of pests and plant diseases and consequently increase in the productivity thereby playing an important role in food production and quality preservation [1]. Also, the chemical compounds have been demonstrated to be endocrine disruptors and are investigated hazardous to the environment and human health[2]. The toxicity of pesticides necessitated the monitoring of these compounds residues in food products in order to investigate the human exposure to pesticides through foods. Thus the analytical methods used must be capable of residue measurement at very low levels. We synthesized poly (ethylene glycol) - poly(ethylene glycol) grafted flower-like cupric oxide nano particles (PEG-PEG -g- CuO NPs) using sol-gel technology. Then we explored the use of hollow fiber solid phase microextraction (HF-SPME) technique using a hollow fiber-supported sol–gel combined with PEG-PEG -g- CuO-NPs for extraction , preconcentration and determination for trace levels of penconazol , hexaconazol and diniconazole in cucumber, lettuce, bell pepper , cabbage and tomato by HPLC-UV under the optimal conditions.
