Abstract

recently graphene and graphene oxide have attracted much attention due to their unique physical and chemical properties which them useful for many applications in different fields such as nanoelectronics, nanocomposites, sensors, batteries, hydrogen storage and etc. The synthesis of graphene and graphene oxide is commonly reported to be carried out using chemical methods, i.e hummers and modified hummers approaches are the most common. However, in this study, we report on the synthesis of graphene oxide nano layer on Copper substrates using a thermal chemical vapor deposition method. Fabricated samples were characterized using X-Ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy and UV-Vis spectra. Results indicated the growth of graphene oxide nano layer on Copper substrates.
