Abstract

This paperprovidesabriefliteraturereviewondynamicbehaviorofliquidstoragecontainers.Moreover, the freevibrationoftwo-dimensionaldeformablerectangulartanksfully-filled withacompressible fluid is analyticallyinvestigated,andtheexactsolutionsarederived.Inthisstudy,the fluid-structure inter- action isrigorouslyconsidered,andthe fluid isassumedtobeirrotational,inviscidandcompressible. Furthermore,aclosed-formexpressionisintroducedforevaluatingthefundamentalfrequencyofthe flexible2Drectangulartanks filled withcompressibleliquid.Inaddition,anapproximateformulais suggestedtodeterminethecorrespondingpressuredistributionontankwalls.Finally,numericalex- amples areperformedtoverifythepresentedclosed-formrelations.Tostudytheeffectofvarious parametersonnaturalfrequenciesandmodeshapesofthe fluid-structure system,asensitivityanalysisis also conducted.
