Abstract

This paper focuses on vibration suppression of frames using an efficient method for determining the sensor/actuator locations. Utilizing the structural dynamics theories, the suitable locations of actuator and sensor are determined based on introducing the magnification factor. This approach is suitable for vibration control of structures with different kinds of degrees of freedom. To verify the validity and efficiency of the proposed scheme, the vibrations of frames are suppressed under various dynamic loads. Results show that the suggested process has suitable ability to use in smart frames so that the vibrations are reduced and damped in few periods of time.
