Introduction and Objectives: Brucellosis is one of the common diseases among humans and animals across the world. The disease mainly involves cattle, sheep, goat, camel and pig and causes many economic losses. The purpose of this study was to investigate the seroprevalence of brucellosis in native cattle using the serological rapid lateral flow immunoassay method. Materials and methods: Blood samples were taken from 150 unvaccinated native cattle. After centrifugation of the blood samples, 2 ml serum was taken and was stored at -20 ° C. One to two drops of each of serum samples was added to RLFA kits along with buffer recommended by kit and the results was shown in a 1 to 2 minutes period. Results: The seroprevalence of brucellosis was calculated to be 2% using the RLFA method and, with a 95% confidence level, it is sayable that the prevalence of brucellosis in the study region varies from zero to four percent. Discussion: Timely and accurate identification of animals infected with brucellosis plays a key role in preventing large losses of the disease and reducing the incidence of it in humans. Serological rapid lateral flow immunoassay method is one of the new methods for diagnosis of brucellosis which, given the high specificity and sensitivity and also no need of advanced laboratory equipment and experienced personnel, and can be used as an applicable method in the diagnosis of this disease.
