Few people can believe that a low pressure system from North Africa after passing through a very hot and dry desert such as Saudi Arabia desert can generate an extensive and torrential rainfall or become an outstanding flood generating system in heart of the Middle East. Since 1970s Iranian meteorologists identified that a low pressure system which originally is a shallow convergence zone in the Eastern Sudan and or Red Sea region frequently can cause a torrential and intensive precipitation over the Middle East during the cold period of the year (Mofidi, 2005). Iranian meteorologists called such a system “Sudanese Low” according to its origin and also to confirm the primary works of Elfandy in 1940s. For researchers in Eastern Mediterranean, Sudanese low is known as “Red Sea Trough” (Kahana et al. 2002; 2004; de Vries et al. 2013). Red Sea Trough has introduced by Eastern Mediterranean Meteorologists and takes to account in many international research works. However, Sudanese Low can move in variety of routes from Eastern Mediterranean to Pakistan and Afghanistan, but the influence of Sudanese low on other parts of Middle East is totally unknown for international researchers, even though the contribution of such system in making precipitation inside of the Middle East is more important than the Eastern Mediterranean (Fig. 1). While in Eastern Mediterranean it only occurs in few transitional months, in other parts of Middle East the Sudanese Low is more frequent and it also can occur in a long period of time from October to May with the highest frequencies in December and winter season
