Introduction: Ehrlichiosis is a tick-borne disease affecting animal and human that caused by obligate intracellular organisms in the genera Ehrlichia. Aim: The aim of the present study is to determine the infection of Ehrlichia in hard ticks were collected from sheep and goats in Savadkooh, Mazandaran. Material and methods: The tick samples were collected from grazing sheep and goats (86 sheep and 36 goats) from Savad-kooh in Mazandaran province. Adult male ticks were identified under a stereomicroscope, according to the identification keys. Salivary glands of the ticks were dissected, and DNA was extracted. PCR was performed using specific primers containing hyper variable region of 16srRNA gene. Finally, sequencing of PCR-Product was taken in Sanger method.
