Abstract

The nano-materials with strong two photon absorption has application in Photodynamic therapy. The mixture of Rhodamine B (RhB) with nano-droplet is described as a new method for enhancement of nonlinear optical properties. The Rhodamine B doped nano-droplet is studied by Z-scan technique and spectrophotometer and spectrofluorometer technique. The Z-scan technique is used to measure the two photon absorption and the real part of the nonlinear susceptibility of Rhodamine b doped nano-droplet. The water-dye droplets are prepared with the mixture of water, surfactant and nonpolar organic solvent at two different sizes. The Raman instrument, spectrophotometer and spectrofluorometer is used to study of polarity and optical property of RhB-droplet solutions. Additionally, the quantum perturbation theory is applied to study the dipole moment of RhB in droplets. The results indicated, the nonlinear optical properties of RhB depend on droplet size and polarity of solutions at the same RhB contraction.
