Language as a connection loop Between People’s Heritage and Publication Industry Samira Bameshki; (Assistant Professor of Persian language and literature from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran, bameshki@um.ac.ir). The objective of this presentation is to speak about the first part of this title, I mean "Language" and especially I m going to speak about third sub- theme i.e "Language and people heritage". Thus, the current speech has been carried out with respect to language as a connection loop between people heritage and publication industry. I will explain the role of language in conveying and preserving people heritage and publication’s contribution to Language maintenance considering history of Persian language. The major question, which may be raised in this investigation include as follows: how has Iranian people maintained their language and consequently their identity, their culture and their independence during history? To answer this question, first of all, I should mention some points about the important role of language in human's existence. On the basis of these definite propositions about language, the important questions come to the fore about Persian language are that what is the history of Persian language? Has Persian language endangered or come under threats? Has there been a possibility of disappearance for Persian language throughout history? And how did Iranian manage to retain their Persian language and heritage while for example Egyptian was not successful to retain? With respect to the conducted analyses, the most essential factors in perpetuating of Persian language are as follows: Iranian People’s intelligence, local Iranian governments, nationalism, literature and literati before Ferdowsi and, Shahname by Ferdowsi. I will briefly explain every of these factors. It necessitates paying to this point that language as a vital phenomenon in cultural and intellectual life of a nation, which would mostly be under threat during the history of a nation like what happened in the history of Persian language. It could be preserved through writing and distribution, namely by manuscripts in past and technology including printing and publication industry nowadays. Thus, language is endured by publication; in the past time, publication was in manuscripts format, and in the present time is in printing industry format. With respect to what was said about language and literature, what is published in this industry today is language. Continuity and survive of language and literature through publication industry is obvious premise. I will briefly discuss the state of publication in Iran today. If we do not say that the publication of books in Iran is facing a severe crisis, we can say that it is struggling with chronic obstacles, which do not diminish their pressure. From the comparison of studies, views and assumptions, based on various sources, it may be possible to classify the obstacles and problems of book publishing in Iran in some factors. The solution to these problems is extensive and comprehensive planning. Publishing is not one of the industries and activities whose problems can be solved by a single action. It seems that in order to get out of the trap of the crisis, it is necessary to take steps to improve and develop the three pillars of creating, publishing, and reading. Achieving such an approach requires a change in the attitudes of policy makers, planners, managers, and executives of cultural affairs, as well as publishers and other publishing professions.
