Abstract
A → A for which there exists a positive ε satisfying ||D(a ◦ b) − a ◦ D(b) − D(a) ◦ b|| ≤ ε||a|| ||b|| (a, b ∈ A), where ◦ denotes the Jordan product on A. We study generalized Jordan derivations on Banach algebras and prove that every generalized Jordan derivation on a semisimple Banach algebra is automatically continuous.
