Abstract

In this study, Nano structured lipid carrier (NLC) was prepared to load Fentanyl Citrate as a high potency and rapid onset drug. This was the first study which applied NLC form for Fentanyl Citrate loading to increase the duration of actions and decrease the amount of drug usage. Four sample with two different oil (Olive oil and Pumpkin seed oil) were synthesized by using ultra sonication method. The particle size, polydispersity index, surface charge and drug loading were respectively measured using dynamic light scattering (DLS), Zeta potential analyzer and High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analyses. Results showed that the carriers were synthesized using pumpkin seed oil, were smaller than the other oil. Size distribution of that particles were in the range of 151 to 216 nm with the PDI value of about 0.23. However, the HPLC results showed the higher drug loading in Olive oil samples in compare with Pumpkin seed oil.
