Abstract
In the past few years, hybrid fiber-reinforced concrete (HFRC) has been widely used in structural elements. However, the feasibility of using this material for concrete pavement exposed to cold weather has not been investigated thoroughly. In the current research, the durability of HFRC against freezing and thawing cycles was investigated. For this purpose, scaling resistance of concrete subjected to freezing and thawing cycles was evaluated to simulate the durability of concrete pavement used in cold regions. According to the results of the current study, it was observed that the addition of fibers to concrete enhances the scaling resistance of concrete. When using HFRC for pavement concrete, the enhanced durability can lead to the better long-term serviceability of the pavement.
