Abstract

This paper shows the advantages of using conformable fractional order derivative in the design of the sliding mode controller. A simple conformable fractional order sliding mode controller with a novel switching rule is designed for a class of uncertain nonlinear system. The proposed switching function is based on conformable fractional derivative. The stability of system is guaranteed by using Lyaponuv theorem. Numerical simulations demonstrate the superiority of using conformable definition in comparing to Caputo definition.
