Abstract
Following several decades of trial and error, the Chinese have become more self-assured about the direction of their Middle East policy. They have reappraised their approach toward the region by embarking upon various new policies and strategies aiming to ultimately serve China’s omnidirectional orientation in a wider Middle Eastern environment. More important than a change in tone and rhetoric, however, the nature and scope of the Chinese relationship with the Middle East have undergone significant developments. By taking bold initiatives and persuading their counterparts in the region to forge all-out connections, the Chinese are hell-bent on discarding their erstwhile proclivities toward the region.
