Abstract
Precision Medicine (PM) employs varieties of smart equipment for customizing the therapy using molecular level analysis. Biosensors are considered among the main smart equipment in the PM. There are different challenges in biosensor application that among them energy harvesting is selected to be the focus of this paper through oxidation of blood sugars by enzymatic implanted biobatteries. Here, the used biobatteries are applied to recharge the biosensors which are in the powered-down state. The place of each biobattery is known and considered as an anchor point. However, the place of each powered-down biosensor is estimated using localization algorithms such as distance-based localization and Extended Kalman Filter (EKF). The biosensors will be recharged if they are in the area of biobatteries. The proposed approach outperforms the rest by using autonomous energy harvesting, precise location estimation and no need for external energy or invasive methods for biosensors recharging.
