Abstract

Selection of the best components in the preparation of pharmaceutical nanocarriers, such as nanostructured lipid carriers (NLCs) that be able to load both groups of hydrophilic and hydrophobic drugs, significantly affects on the nanoparticle size, stability, drug loading efficiency and release rate. In the present study, the selection of nanocarrier components including liquid lipid, solid lipid and surfactants was performed based on the solubility parameter study. Hoftyzervan krevelen method based on the group contribution models was applied for this aim. Different NLCs were prepared by applying hot hemogenization method using double emulsions and their particle size is measured using DLS analysis. The accuracy of the model was checked by comparing the experimental and modeling results. Particle size analysis results confirmed the accuracy of the Hoftyzer-van krevelen method for prediction the best components of NLCs.
