Abstract

The size-dependent effects on the oscillatory behavior of functionally graded-piezoelectric cylindrical nano-shell (FG-PCNS) as nanoresonator are investigated in the current paper. To this end, Gurtin–Murdoch surface elasticity and von-karman-Donnell\\\'s theory are used. The governing equations and boundary conditions are derived using Hamilton’s principle. Also, the assumed mode method is used for changing the partial differential equations into ordinary differential equations. The convergence, accuracy and reliability of the current formulation are validated by comparisons with existing experimental and numerical results published in the literature, with excellent agreements achieved. Also, the effects of geometrical parameters and material properties are studied on natural frequency and nonlinear dynamic response.
