Abstract
In the commented paper [Mater. Lett. 136 (2014) 251–253] Bhagat and Dhokane have studied the optical properties of the polyindole/poly(vinyl acetate) (PIN/PVAc) composite films. As shown in this comment, the refractive index of the samples has been calculated using a wrong equation and obtained values are incorrect. Also, The optical conductivity has been calculated based on the refractive index and obtained values are incorrect. Moreover, the evaluated values of the optical energy band gap of the specimens are wrong. Furthermore, the reported values of the extinction coefficient are abnormally high and most likely to be incorrect.
