Abstract

ABSTRACT An efficient and simple procedure has been described for the synthesis of a novel series of polycyclic compounds containing pyranodipyrimidine core via cyclocondensation reaction of 2,3-dihydro-thiazolo[3,2-a]pyrimidine-5,7-dione and aromatic aldehyde derivatives in the presence of diisopropylethylamine as an organo-base catalyst. This procedure gave the desired products in high yields.
