چکیده

Introduction: The liver, as the largest organ of the vertebrates and one of the most important glands in the body, performs many activities. Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is considered a metabolic disorder that results from a complex interaction between genetic, hormonal, and nutritional factors. Apple cider vinegar (ACV) contains polyphenolic of ACV compounds that have beneficial effects on health. The antioxidant flavonoid content of APC can reduce the harmful effects of high cholesterol diets. Rainbow trout consume fewer carbohydrates in their diet, and the excess accumulates in hepatocytes as glycogen. As the liver enlarges, this may causes tissue malfunction. This study was designed for the first time to compare the effects of different levels of APC in the diet of rainbow trout on expression of the fatty acid amid hydrolase gene (FAAH) in fish with non-alcoholic fatty liver. Materials and Methods: The aim of this study was to compare the effects of different levels of apple cider vinegar (0, 1, 2 and 4%) in the diet of rainbow trout with fatty liver on the expression of FAAH gene in the liver. For this purpose, 120 pieces of rainbow trout (74.20 5 5.40 kg) that previously had fatty liver disease were distributed in four experimental treatments, each with three replications. Quantitative PCR was used to measure the expression of FAAH gene in liver tissue. Results: So far, the effects of various genes such as antioxidant enzymes involved in liver metabolic activity in rainbow trout have been investigated, but we first studied the FAAH gene, which is involved in fat metabolism. The results of the analysis of data related to the expression of this gene were significant and Treatment without apple cider vinegar had the highest gene expression. Conclusion: The results of the present study showed that the expression of FAAH gene was changed according to the experimental treatment and the percentage of apple cider vinegar increased in the diet. The highest expression is related to the affected treatment without ACV. According to the results, ACV had a positive effect on the treatment of fatty liver disease in rainbow trout.
