Abstract
The soap flower plant with the scientific name of Saponaria officinalis is a member of the Caryophyllaceae family of cloves. Soap has told the soap flower that it has a special reason for being soapy. This plant has antioxidant properties and contains a sufficient amount of saponin. Saponins are secondary metabolites traditionally used by many plant species, including flowers. Their name comes from the Latin word \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"sapo\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" meaning soap because of its surfactant properties that allow it to form a stable foam of soap after shaking in aqueous solution. In reputable medical drugs, saponins are used to characterize and clear sputum in diseases of the respiratory system and lungs, as well as a laxative and diuretic. Nanoparticles are synthesized in different ways, which is synthesis by green method is one of those in which the method is high in activated substances, medical products obtained from plants for the synthesis of nanoparticles that are used. The use of the green method allows the nanostructures of biological structures to be followed by their biological functions. This property makes these compounds used in the treatment of some diseases, including cancer. The proven antioxidant and anti-tumor effect of the main compound which is saponin, as well as the presence of flavonoids in this plant and the proof of the positive effects of flavonoids on it. Therefore, in this study, the antioxidant activity of iron nanoparticles synthesized from aqueous extract of Saponaria officinalis were studied.
