Abstract

Two new magnetic nanocomposites containing aniline–pyrrole copolymer-coated magnetic carbon nano-tubes (poly(Ani-co-Py)@CNT-Fe3O4) were synthesized and characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray analysis (EDS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and vibrating-sample magnetometer (VSM) techniques. The catalytic activity of poly(Ani-co-Py)@ CNT-Fe3O4 nanocomposites was investigated in the multi-component preparation of 2′-aminospiro[indeno[1,2-b]quinoxaline-11,4′-[4′H]pyran]-3′-carbonitrile and 2′-aminospiro[indeno-2,4′-[4′H]pyran]-3′-carbonitrile derivatives. The reusability of these nanocomposites was also studied and compared together. High efficiency, reusability, non-toxicity, stability and magnetic separation of the catalyst in combination with short reaction time, high product yield, easy work-up procedure, high purity of the product are noteworthy advantages of the current methods.
