Abstract
Redundant is used to improve the reliability of a given system and to ensure that it is available to fulfil its duty during a mission time. This paper proposes an algorithmic approach for solving RAPs when component lifetimes are either independent and heterogeneous under a general setting. Two common active and standby schemes for allocations, are considered. Moreover, a new stochastic order is proposed and applied for comparison purposes. Various illustrative examples are also analysed. This method can be implemented for engineering system networks.
