Abstract

We study the strong coupling constant in QCD perturbative region by using electron-positron, electron-proton and proton-proton interactions. To achieve this, we employ two different methods. The first method involves the average charged particle multiplicity of quark and gluon jets by measuring the ratio of gluon jets to quark jets and also by using JADE, DURHAM and CAMBRIDGE algorithms to separate quark jets from gluon jets. We observe that within statistical errors, our measurements are consistent with each other for three different algorithms. Next method is concerned with event shape observables. The QCD parameter obtained from both methods is consistent with each other. To further examine the accuracy of our results, we investigate the K-factors by applying the first method namely the ratio of gluon jets to quark jets. More details of this research will be provided in this article.
