Abstract
Information-theoretic analysis of the communication systems performances is of practical and theoretical importance. In this paper, we study impact of an artificial noise assisted transmission scheme on physical layer security in a Rayleigh fading wiretap channel with active eavesdropper by deriving closed-form expressions for the average secrecy rate (ASR) and secrecy outage probability (SOP). The results show that artificial noise transmission under active attack has positive effects over secrecy performance of the system model. Numerical evaluations are provided to support the claims.
