Abstract
Event cameras, such as the Dynamic Vision Sensor (DVS) offer significant advantages over standard cameras. They are, though, still expensive and not widely accessible. In this paper, a simple and low-cost emulation of an event camera is presented with multiple algorithms developed on this emulation for solid object detection and hand gesture extraction, especially for system-on-chip (SOC) boards such as raspberry pi. The proposed approach uses classic and filter algorithms with minimum overheads and a simple NN and CNN utilized to extract gestures. Results are based on the methods to improve previous emulators and designing algorithms for software emulators.
