Abstract
This study presents various preparation methods for synthesizing a 2 %Mn-4 %Na2WO4/SiO2 catalyst for the oxidative coupling of methane (OCM) using an incipient-wetness impregnation procedure in one/two steps. The catalyst preparation involved modifying various additions and investigating the combination of 4 %, 5 %, and 6 % Na2WO4. Specifically, the effects of operating temperature and the methane-to-oxygen ratio on the catalyst’s performance were investigated. The results suggest that the 2 %Mn-4 %Na2WO4/SiO2 catalyst can operate efficiently under a low methane-to-oxygen feed ratio, making it suitable for OCM reactors. In our packed-bed quartz glass reactor, the dry-impregnated catalyst exhibited excellent performance, with a C2 selectivity of 37.20 %, ethylene selectivity of 13.94 %, ethane subselectivity of 23.26 %, and C2 yield of 28.22 %.
