Abstract

This paper reported synthesizing a new family of BF2 complexes denoted as BOPTHY via a simple method using commercially available substances. The obtained BOPTHY compounds were well characterized by using FT-IR, 1HNMR, 13CNMR, 19FNMR, and X-ray analysis. These resultant unsymmetrical BODIPY-like compounds (BOPTHY) exhibit high fluorescent properties in solution, and they benefit from their unique structures. Using hydrazine as a connector between thiazole and pyrrole leads to getting bis boron difluoride complexes with a supreme molar absorption coefficient (38,900–47,000 M-1 cm-1), large Stokes shifts, brilliant pH-stability, environmentally sensitive to pH and polarity, and high fluorescence quantum yields. Notably, the photo properties of the synthesized compounds were further confirmed through the DFT calculation
